LENDING & MEMBERS RELATION SUPERVISOR

Company’s Objective:

SECU Credit Union is seeking to identify a suitable candidate for the role of Lending & Members Relation Supervisor.

Job Purpose:

The Lending & Members Relation Supervisor reports to the Operations Manager and is generally accountable for reviewing and processing all loan applications submitted in line with company-issued policies, ensuring in the process that all procedural requirements for the submission and review of loans have been met. The incumbent is required to Supervise our Customer Service Representatives, Loan Officers and the Members Benefit Assistant.

Duties & Responsibilities:

· Process and disburse all daily loans in the absence of the loan officers.
· Reviews, verifies loan applications in accordance with prescribed policy.
· Monitors the performance of all loans granted and reports on trends and developments within SECU’s loan portfolio.
· Reviews all loan application forms prior to submission to the Credit committee sitting.
· Review schedules for tracking renewal of MBOS and insurance policies.
· Supervise Loan Officers, Customer Service Representatives and the Members Benefit Assistant in the execution of their duties and responsibilities.
· Attending Credit and Delinquency Committee meetings when required.
· Provides professional support to the Credit and Delinquency Committee.
· Prepare monthly analytical reports to the Operations Manager.
· Coordinate with the Admin and HR Manager in the development of suitable training/coaching sessions in Customer Service for all staff
· Approve transfers, withdrawals.
· Approve cash withdrawals of shares and ordinary deposits (within) the existing policy limits), authorize cheques for cash.
· Ensure that members are kept up to date with product information.
· Supervise beginning of day activities – Vault opening as well as Cashier/Customer Service activities
· Conduct Lock up cashiers activities; balance Cash Float daily
· Supervise the dispatching of welcome letters to ensure members receive same in a timely manner.
· Conduct/Provide internal training for customer service clerks and cashiers.
· Ensure customer files are kept according to the Credit Union’s policies and procedural guidelines.
· Perform related duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.

 

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

· First Degree in Finance, Management or related field
· Minimum of five (5) years relevant experience
· Minimum of three (3) years in a supervisory position
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· Ability to supervise staff
· Strong attention to detail
· Ability to write reports and effectively present information
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Effective time management and prioritization skills
· Must meet deadlines in a fast-paced and quickly changing environment
· Knowledge of the AML and CFT Legislation and Regulations will be an asset.
· Must be a team player with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
· Knowledge of general insurance application and claims processing
· Knowledge of the company’s products and services will be an asset.
