Our Credit Union

Founded in 1982 by the steelworkers of ISCOTT. Built strong like the steel produced by our foundation members, we have grown to reach out to the wider public whilst becoming a financial powerhouse that is ready and committed to serving you.

The society started its operations working out of a portable site office on the estate, and today our head office is located in California with branch offices in Chaguanas, Princes Town and Tobago. This phenomenal growth is due in largely in part to the uprightness and integrity of its Board of Directors and the sound financial planning and oversight of its Management.

“In 1997 the name was changed to SECU Credit Union and in 2002 the bond was opened to include the National community.”

The Credit Union Movement started amongst the common people in Trinidad and Tobago and SECU has always maintained that relationship with its roots. Its Board, over the years, developed a culture within the organization where the welfare of its members has always been first and foremost. Over the years SECU has embarked on many charitable community events and members have commented on the friendly, humane treatmentquality customer service they enjoy at SECU.

SECU Credit Union is proud of the fact that they have been able to make a difference in the lives of so many people, in this community and in the wider national community as well, across every ethnic and social class.
